May 28 2014 Hot bite in Virginia!

May 28 2014
We Had a short window before the storms rolled in so Bill, Randy, Joe, Jon and I headed out for a quick trip to give it our first try in Virginia for Cobia this season. Once we were out, the glare wasn't fully burned off yet so it made it difficult to see but, fifteen minutes after looking Bill spotted our first fish, about 20 lbs., but was reluctant to eat. For the next couple hours we saw a lot of fish but we were having a hard time getting them to eat. We tried everything but they wanted no parts of it. Then you would have thought we flipped a switch. We caught a nice pair 45 lber and 30 lber and it was all up hill from there. For the next hour we got on a really good bite and ended up keeping our limit and released more. Our Largest fish was 45 lbs. We called it off early to get Randy back in to get to work on time!

Get in on the action! Give me a call to book your trip today.

May 26.2014 Nice Cobia today 76& 71 lbers

May 26.2014
Charles, Joe, and Lisa met us at the boat and we headed out. right off the bat we hooked a pair. Joe and Lisa got to catch their first Cobia, both around 40 pounds. Almost as soon as we finished getting cleaned up we saw another fish and it was Charles' turn, after a long battle we got it in the boat a beautiful 71 pounder! The wind started to pick up and we turned back towards the inlet, as soon as we turned we saw a triple. We hooked the biggest fish and Joe and Lisa  landed it after a long fight another solid fish 76.2Lbs! With the weather turning for the worse and clouds rolling in we decided to head home, with 4 beautiful fish in the box and releasing a few more. It was a great day with great people, hope to see them again soon!

May 22 2014 Insane Class of Cobia!!

May 22 .2014
Today will be unforgettable. Jon,Willie and I headed out about 10:00 and it toke sometime to get on a fish but we started the day off with Jon catching a really solid fish about 65-70lbs. So after getting cleaned up it was another waiting game until the next fish we caught a 45lber. Then another hour passes and still not seeing any fish Willie finally got a shot a big one he lands another solid fish for the day 75-80lbs. Then the familiar pattern continues we kept looking with not seeing much then we stumbled across a nice school of red drum and I landed a 51" incher then school spooked. We continued to look around for about a hour without seeing anything we where about to call it a day then all hell broke loose. We spot a nice triple and Willie cast first, hooks up instantly Jon followed right up hooking the second fish and Im in panic mode trying to get my eel untangled, so I cut the line and grab Willies back bucktail rod and hook the third fish so at this point the Chinese fire drill is in full force! We are all going up and over each other, sticking rods in rod holders to gaff  each others fish and somehow we landed all three absolute monster fish Willies was 68lbs Jons was 76lbs and I had the privilege to catch my biggest Cobia to date a Whooper 65"  weighing 95.8 lbs! Im so glad I had the opportunity to have this epic day with two very good friends.

May 11 2014

May 11.2014
Mike,Ken,Brandon and I went and soaked a few bait on the shoals today for some Drum before my Mothers Day dinner. The Drum didn't want to cooperate. But the Rays where relentless we couldn't keep a bait in the water. So with not much time we decided to at least try use some crabs instead of feeding them all to the Rays. We made a quick stop on the way in hopes of catching a release citation Tog. Without having a anchor, proper hooks and rods we did really good we fished for about 30 minutes and caught around 15 Tog biggest 17 inches (all released) not bad considering the circumstances.
