June 29.2014 Cobia report

June 29 2014
We had Kathleen and her crew with us for a half day trip. We met at White House Cove and got underway. As soon as we slowed down we hooked our first fish and John got to catch his first cobia! We did not see many fish, but we made our shots count. We boxed two nice Cobia. With a little time left in our day we tried to flounder fish a new spot on the way home with no bites aside from oyster toads. It was a beautiful day on the water with great people! hope to see them again soon!

June 27 .2014 Cobia report

June 27 2014
After talking to a few buddies out there, and with a slick calm report, Anthony, his son, and a buddy of his decided to head out there for a half day trip. We knew the weather was going to steadily deteriorate as the day went on but we hurried out. Of course, by the time we made it out the wind began to pick up and the cloudy skies made it very difficult. We grinded it out a hooked a really nice fish; 40-45 lbs. After a good fight and bringing it to the boat a couple different times, it pulled off before we could get it on the gaff. So after that heartbreak, we got to make up with a couple more fish we landed two ; one being Anthony and Jake's first Cobia and one was too small so we released it. We then headed in before the conditions worsened. Boxing two around 40" and releasing a short resulted in an eventful day for the guys! Thanks again for coming, see y'all soon!

June 26 2014 Flounder and Cobia Great catch

June 26 2014
With the good forecast for today I was able to get a couple people last minute. Joe got off work early this morning and Ethan, my neighbor, has been dying to go, so we headed out. We got setup and started flounder fishing the wind against the tide made it challenging but we plucked away at a few we caught a dozen or so with 9 keepers. The current got going too hard so we decided to go look for a Cobia. It wasn't long before Ethan boated his first Cobia this year; 40lber. We got a few more shots through the rest of the day and boated another 25-30lber. Got a handful more shots but they wouldn't eat we called it a day a headed in.

June 24.2014 great trip!

June 24 2014
We had another great family trip out with us today. It was another rough ride out with choppy seas. With a great start we hooked a pair and landed them both a fish! One was a short so we tagged and released it. The next one made its way into the fish box; a solid 35 lber. We continued to see and catch fish consistent, landing a total of 5, kept two to eat, and released the rest. We did see some real quality fish today that we just couldn't get to eat but as Bracket said "they will eat next time". Thanks again guys hope to see y'all back soon!

June 23 .2014 Good Cobia bite !

June 23 2014
The goal Today was to get David's three sons each a Cobia and we pulled it off. Today we had David, Josh, Zach, and Adam out with us. It was a little on the rough side getting out but it was all worth it after we boated Zach's first Cobia; a nice 45lber! That pace stayed pretty consistent the rest of the day Josh and Adam both got to catch there first fish and more. We caught 9 total, pulled the hook on some, kept 3 to eat, and tagged and released the rest. It was a awesome day getting some more young bucks addicted to the great outdoors.

June 20 2014 small Flounder appearance and a Cobia !

June 20 2014
With rough weather conditions we waited a little late to head out due to wind and rain. With a late start we got out and the clouds were still thick so sight fishing was out of the question. We set up to Flounder fish. The current wasn't really right at first but we waited it out and plucked away at a few Flounder. Caught around 8 and had 5 keepers-biggest 19 inches-not bad for our first flounder attempt of the year. Then the clouds broke up and with a little time left in our day we looked around for a Cobia. Luckily out the gate we caught one. Dale got to catch one 25-30lbs. We saw a couple more but they wouldn't eat we called it a day and headed in. Its always a pleasure having those two comedians on the boat. See y'all again soon!

June 17 2014 Solid Cobia biggest 74lbs!

June 17.2014
We had some really solid fish today! We had Anthony and his son and a couple buddies with us for a half day this morning. We got set up around 7:30 and started chumming. Shortly after Anthony's son was first up and caught his first Cobia a nice 42incher! Unfortunately that was the last Cobia bite we had for our trip but they stayed entertained catching sea mullets, bluefish and a flounder off the chum pot with a little time left in our half day trip we went looking for about 45 minutes and didn't see anything but the water was slicking out and I knew it was going to happen today, so before heading in I asked if they wanted to stay longer but unfortunately they had further plans the rest of the day, So after cleaning up and dropping them off Brandon and I decided to head back out around 1:00 and glad we did! We got set up and it was game on! We caught 6 fish total and had two fish on at the same time twice. It was amazing class of fish today smallest around 40lbs. Brandon also got to catch a stud it was 62 inches and weighed 74lbs! I released one 54 inches that was around 50lbs! It was a great day from start to finish, but really wish Anthony and his group could have stayed out longer see y'all again soon!

June 15.2014
Today was Luke's 15th Birthday trip so his family and a couple friends headed out with us for a half day. There goal was to do some catching. We got anchored up and started chumming they all took turns reeling in Sharks and bait fish off the chum pot. So with a liitle bit of time left in our trip they elected to the idea to look for a Cobia. We lucked up and hooked our first fish after looking only ten minutes. Luke battled it out and caught his first Cobia; 60lber! With not much time left we cleaned up, headed in and weighed it before the Bishops Outpost closed. June 14 2014 Cobia report

June 14. 2014
We had Monty and a couple of his buddies with us we started the day off chumming we got set up and it wasn't long we started to get plenty of shark bites we weeded through them and caught a little Cobia. We chummed for a little bit longer then the wind finally laid out and the sun got up, so we decided to go sight fishing we didn't get many shots we saw a pair hooked them both pulled one off and caught a keeper. Unfortunately, that was the end of the action we did see another single but the fish wouldn't bite. Despite the slower pace, I'm glad we were able to get two in the boat!

June 10 2014 Awesome quick Trip!

June 10 2014
It was just one of those days you wish you had more time. Chris and Dave gave me a call a little after lunch time and asked if I wanted to Cobia fish for a couple hours. So we headed out and it was game on out the gate! We smoked our first fish of the day 40 lber and the pace never slowed up we fished for 2 hours and caught 9 biggest 40lbs, pulled two off one being 60-65lbs, and broke one off. Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in and we called it a (really) early day.
I have a couple open days coming up, get in on the action and give me a call!

June 7.2014 Good Cobia bite!

June 7 2014
John and Rhonda headed out with us around 10:00 the conditions started off perfect but quickly deteriorated. The wind picked up just enough that we couldn't see the fish waking and the glary skies made it difficult to sight fish. We did get a shot at a very nice fish today 70-75lbs that was just to smart for us and wouldn't eat. We caught a total of 6 Cobia and kept 3 biggest was 40-45lbs and also pulled the hook on two more. It was a good day with great company thanks again see y'all next month.

June 6.2014
Richard, Carrie, and Jack met us at the boat ramp and we headed out. The day started out rough, and the glare made sight fishing difficult. Later in the afternoon we started to see some Cobia, the action continued to be steady and we caught some nice fish and released a couple. Jack got to catch his first keeper Cobia around 40 pounds! With some meat in the box for fish tacos, we decided to head in. It was a great day on the water with good people.

June 2 2014 take a kid fishing!

June 2.2014
Today was one of those days where the fish just wouldn't cooperate for us. Had a hard time trying to get them to bite. We headed out around 10:00 with Jim and his two young boys, Charlie and Bryan, aboard in hopes to catch there first Cobia. We got out to where we saw some fish the day before and it wasn't looking too good; water clarity and temperature had changed. Finally, an hour later we broke the ice! Catching the "biggest Cobia in the Ocean" if you don't believe me ask Brian and Charlie (ages 4 and 8). Charlie got to catch his first Cobia and a nice one at that; a slob 41 incher. The smiles started rolling and the moral was up! Up next was Brian got to catch his first Cobia, another whopper for the day, a 32 incher! we snapped a few pics and back we went. The day was made and two young bucks where hooked for life at this point! We topped the day off by catching two more and boxing another fish and headed in it was a wonderful day and glad to be apart of there first Cobia!

June 1.2014 Girls Cobia trip!

June 1, 2014
Brandon, Amanda, Jordan, and I decided to head out around lunch time today to get the girls on the Cobia. The day started out great, with Jordan catching the first one of the day within the first ten minutes and Amanda gaffed her first Cobia! The girls were on it today, gaffing and reeling them all in. We had a great afternoon trip, catching a total of 5, pulling the hook on 4, and kept 3; largest was 35 lbs. It was a good time with great company.
