Haven't been in the Trout game in awhile without having my skiff and the swan point I am building not complete. By the reports and talking to friend the bobbers and minnows are getting abundance of nice fish in the cove. My friends Rudy called me late yesterday evening asked if i wanted to go trout fishing. Both of us never been to the area at night so we knew there was going to be some trial and error and leg work to figure out. We casted jerk baits and a assortment of artificial baits on flats and pockets that have produced fished for us both in the day time in the past. We where second guessing our self alot not have ever done it. But was I rewarded by my first trout on topwater 20 incher what a awesome feeling! I have caught several big trout under a bobber in the past but that fish had no comparison. Rudy and I moved around got on a good spot where Rudy caught the biggest fish of the night 26.5". We caught and few more and unfortunately lost a 25+ incher boat side. Then the front moved in and wind started gusting around 20kts made fishing impossible.

Dec11.2013 Rockfish 43.5Lbs

The weather was so gorgeous couldn't resist going. Jon and I headed over and eeled the ES. It was slow for some and good for others. Fortunately we managed to catch a nice fish 47.5" 43.5lbs.

Headed over to the ES to do some eeling on this cold rainy day. We got set out on some good fish marks and bait. And that was about all we seen for awhile. We made a little move and set out and finally got a bite. Jon landed a solid healthy 45 incher! And we made a few more drifts and unfortunately that was all our action for the today. So we headed in early to get out the miserable weather be back on them again soon.

Dec 6.2013 Rockfish!

Last minute decided to make a quick run and eel for a few hours. We got to Cape Charles around lunch time and put the baits out it started off really slow for us. And on the third drift we got our first bite and it was a screamer! Unfortunately five minutes into the fight the hook pulled. We regrouped and about 30 minutes later Jon landed and nice fish. So we pulled up to make another drift to find out the conditions totally changed and the front moved in and the wind turned around to the northeast. Come to find out this wasn't such a bad thing we started getting alot of bites. But had trouble holding on to them. The gust continued to pickup so we decided to call it early before our ride home would be any worse.

Put the hammer on the togs today. Jonathan,Jon and I fished for 3 Hours at the CBBT and caught around 50 Togs. We had a solid class of fish. We kept our three fish limit up to 6lbs great day and back in before lunch time!

We had Kevin and his wife and a few of his friends out with us today. We started off eeling Cape Charles area the bite was a little slow. Throughout the day we consistent bait and fish marks. And Don got to land his first Rockfish on a eel. Right after catching that fish we pulled two more off, I imagine they where smaller class fish. As soon as the Action started it slowed down. We decided to make a run to do some casting and we in-countered some birds working and stopped and finished up our day jigging around the birds catching 30-40 schoolie size Rockfish fish but a blast on light tackle.

Dec 1.2013 Togs !!!

Made quick work on the Togs today. Jonathan.Katie,Jon and I headed out first light and landed in the meat. We had our 12 fish limit within the first hour with 4 solid fish over 6lbs. We spent another couple hours picking around trying new spots then decided to call it a early day!

Went out with a few buddies and it was nothing but great laughs and great fishing! We got set up in the crowd and after about 20 minutes with no bites we made a big move. We got set up and the current was just getting right. We started pounding them! Today was the biggest class of Togs for my fall season we kept our 15 Fish limit the largest was 23 inches and released the rest.

Went out for a quick trip with Stacy Mann and his father on there skiff. It was a great day warm weather and slick conditions and the fish were biting! Throughout the Ebb current we manged some nice fish, Stacy was the big hitter with his solid 35.5" inch fish. We wrapped our day up with a limit of overs (28") and one shy for under (28") we released more. Its a good problem when you cant catch the under slot fish.

Went out in the upper bay area with Nolan and Jon for a hour. We didn't time the current right so wasn't much action. We did have a few bites and landed a nice fish. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the outgoing tide due to not being able to get back in Nolans creek because the bite turned on!

We had Jonathan and his friends from Germany and England to join in on our fishing trip! We headed out and were faced with some really difficult conditions; rough seas and terrible current. We struggled the majority of the day but finally started picking at a few. We made a big move and got on a steady bite throughout out our trip we caught 20 Togs with 16 Keepers total and pulled off a handful. I look forward to our trip next summer!

Nov 14.2013 Rockfish frenzy !!

Went out for a quick trip in the upper bay area with a couple buddies. It was non-stop catching! We didn't catch anything "huge" but was extremely fun! We did pull off a really nice fish boatside but other than that it was a very productive couple hours with catching around 30-40 Rockfish biggest 25inches the hot bait was a RFT 5 & 7 inch Flinchin Minnow.

Nov 9.2013 Togs !!

Today Jonathan,Jon,Kyle and I headed out at first light on my boat and what a blast we had! We got set up and began dropping and the Togs started chewing. We caught fish steady for about 2 hours and we got a nice 4 man limit in the boat early with the biggest around 7lbs! Throughout the day we made a few moves trying some new spots and some payed off. We caught 45-50 Togs for our tally on the day it was a awesome day with great friends!

Nov 8.2013 Light Tackle Rockfishing!

Got the opportunity to jump on with my buddy Nolan to do some light tackle Rockfishing at the bridge this evening. We headed out and it was a bit bumpy at first. We made a few moves and got on a red hot bite with getting multiple bites every other cast. We quickly boxed our two man limit with the biggest around 35 inches. Then we began releasing alot of solid 20-36 inch fish! It was a great beginning to my Rockfish season!

Tasty Togs !

Jonathan and I headed out this morning before his errands. And we caught some nice Togs. I hung a nice one that got me wrapped up but after 40 seconds he finally came out worth the patients solid fish for this time of year inshore 23.5" 7-7.5lbs. Back to sanding on my boat before lunch time!

We had Suffolk Pest Control aboard today for a few hours. The weather man was way off on the forecast. Or day started off really challenging from rough seas to ripping current we grinned it out and had a good catch for a half day of fishing we caught 13 Togs with 10 keepers and 2 Sheepshead.

Oct 5.2013 Awesome action!!

Perfect day to say the least. Julie Ball came aboard with high hopes of catching a trophy Red drum after seeing the reports from the previous day. Everything came together from the ease of catching bait to the ideal weather. We headed out and got set up and it wasn't long before the rods started bending! That didn't slow down with over 20 drum 5 of them keepers 23-25 inches and we had 13 Release Citations from 47"-52" and one of those qualified Julie Ball for a Pending IGFA World Record!! It was a great day with plenty of action!

Oct4.2013 Family Fun! citations!

We had the North Carolina family crew in town for a half day with us. We headed out after stopping and catching some bait, we got set up and the bite was slow with a few small sharks and bluefish. After about 45 minutes later we made a move and it was game on! everyone on the boat with doubles and singles, we also had some monsters today with 3 Citations 53" 54.5" and a huge 57 incher! It was a great day with sore arms and smiles all around.

Oct 2.2013 we had a great day yesterday fished normans boat we had 5 long fins a pulled off a few and had few other bites then toward the endof the day we decided to go bottom fish for a hour we had a good catch of Bluelines and a handful seabass it was a good day on the water!

Today we had Matt and his buddies out for his bachelors party. It was a great day on the water. We had a total of 60-65 Seabass with 47 keepers with the biggest 4.5 lbs. We had a total of 20-25 flounder, 17 keepers the largest being 5 lbs. We had 12 dolphins all peanuts but one 18-20 lbs. The guys had a great time and i look forward to having them again soon!

Today we had a Father and two sons all the way from Ohio. It was a great day, fishing was not red hot but we scratched out a great catch of flounders with the biggest right at 5lbs. And also caught a few Seabass with a couple keepers. I cant wait to have them back out with us

Sept 7.2013 Mixed bag!

There was a nice mixture today! We had John and his crew out with us. We first went Flounder fishing and had a nice catch of those with the biggest around 5.5lbs along with a handful of Seabass with a couple keepers and a 20" Puppy drum to add. Then we decided to go Cobia fishing we didn't see many right away but we ended up landing a nice pair. Not long after we stumbled across a couple Mahi's. Finally, after pestering them to death, we got one to eat and landed that as a bonus to our awesome day!
