September 28 2014 Fishing report

September 28 2014

The weather has been brutal. Strong north winds and rain have made fishing for what the charters want a big problem. Today, we had Matt and his buddy. Our last two attempts at fishing have been cancelled due to this weather. We finally got a weather window, so we went for it. Unfortunately, the weather had the water really stirred up which made fishing a little less productive. The Seabass had no problem with the water clarity but with the season closed we had to release all them. We worked hard and made a good day out of it and sent Matt and his friend back with fresh Flounder and Trigger fish. Our biggest Flounder was 24 inches and had Triggers over 4 lbs!
Thanks again guys see y'all next time.

September 17 Drum report

September 17 2014
We had Jimmy, Jon and Chris out with us today. Our last two fishing trips we had to cancel due to bad weather. So we where very determined to get out. They really wanted to target Cobia but with the overcast conditions and strong winds they elected to go Drum fishing. A lot like yesterday the action was pretty much instantly. We caught 5 nice Drum up to 35 inches and broke a couple off. Unlike a couple boats around us we couldn't manage the big citation size Drum to bite. The wind picked up so we decided to call it a early day. It was a great trip with many laughs. Thanks guys I look forward to our next trip together.

September 16 2014 Big Red Drum!

September 16 2014
Today we had Charles who treated some of his employee from James River Mechanical with an annual fishing trip! It was a little bumpy starting out but, it laid out beautifully. Along with the weather cooperating, so did the big Drum! Almost instantly after getting our first bait out we hooked up, and boated our fish of the day! Little did we know that would be 1 of the 3 Citations for today. The action stayed pretty consistent and even had a double in the mix. The biggest problem we had was trying to catch one under slot...but that's a good problem, right!? Our biggest fish of the day was 50 inches! Sorry the boss man made you take off work to catch these monster Drum. Thanks again guys! It was a great day on the water and can't wait to see you next year

September 15 2014 Flounder and Sebass for dinner!

September 15 2014
The weather windows seem to be more uncommon lately. Unfortunately, my charter had to cancel their trip last night so today Joe, Sebastian, Jon and I took advantage of the great day and got a little late start. The ride out was a little bumpy. It took a little time and moving around to really get in the meat. But, once we found them it was absolute game on! We had a awesome catch, we caught around 50 Flounder total, kept our 20 fish limit with the biggest 6.12 lbs, about 40 Seabass with the biggest being 3.5- 4lbs, and 2 nice Trigger fish. Also caught one of the biggest hake I've ever seen. It was a enjoyable day with great friends!

September 11 2014 Solid fish biggest was 65 inches!

September 11 2014
The foul weather has kept us at the dock lately. Today we had James, Deborah, Ellen and Becky from Oklahoma for a full day. The day started off very slow, we covered a lot of ground and didn't see much. Then the action went from zero to sixty! We caught our first fish out of a pair, broke the ice and put some meat in the box. The action never slowed from there on out. Then we got a shot at a very solid pair. We hooked the bigger fish out the pair and Ellen was in for a fight. After an hour fight we netted and boated the slob and it measured out 65 inches! Unfortunately with a box full of fish we had high hopes to net and release the big fish. But after the long fight and being hooked deep we put the fish on a rope and tried to revive it for about 15 minutes but we had no success. It wasnt long after cleaning up, we saw another nice pair of fish. Again we hooked the bigger fish and James got to land another beautiful 57 incher that was successfully released. The day couldn't have got much better we had plenty of action and plenty of meat to take back to Oklahoma. Thanks again guys and next time we wont start cleaning the fish before we get the dock shot!

September 4 2014 Awesome day offshore!

September 4 2014
We got a wild hair, So we decided to go offshore in my boat and switch it up a little bit. So Jon, Brandon, Ken and I left Rudee around 4:00 am. We stopped a little shallow and and caught some nice gaffer dolphin. The dolphin fishing slowed down so we decided to try marlin fishing. As soon as we put the baits out we had a marlin bite, and we caught our first white marlin of the morning. Not long after getting the baits back out we had a strange bite and one of our baits was cut clean in half, then the flatline started screaming and so did the long rigger. We doubled up on Wahoo's and I lucked up and with 50lb Mono leader I landed mine it weighed 52lbs! But unfortunately Kens later got bit off. The action continued we caught 4 more White Marlin and jumped another off. We decided to go give bottom fishing a try we only made a couple drifts before heading closer into shore. We had a handful of Tile fish up to 8lbs a few rose fish and some hake. We decided to head inshore and try some wrecks for flounder. As we got closer to the wreck we could see a storm heading our direction but we decided to give it one shot before trying to beat the storm. We made one pass and caught 3 nice flounders up to 23 inches, I wish we could have given it more time because it was definitely game on! It was a awesome day

September 2 2014 Awesome fishing biggest was 85 Lbs!

September 2 2014
The Fish God blessed us today with another awesome catch. Jon, Brandon, Thomas, and I went out for a fun trip. The day started out a little frustrating for us with not many shots and the shot's we did get we either blew it or pulled them off. Then the magic happened and I hooked and caught a really solid fish out of a triple. I first called it around 50-60 lbs, but was happily wrong. We boated the fish and it weighed a whopping 85 lbs! That was the ice breaker we needed and the rest of the day just continued to go up hill, landing 11 fish total. Had some really nice fish; we kept 4 and released the rest. Everyone released one over 50" it was a extremely great day Thanks again, John Bishop for taking time out of your day to meet us at the scales and weigh this beauty! You're first class!

September is a great month to catch it all. Give us a call and line up your next trip!
