July 26 2014 Cobia and Flounder

July 26 2014
We had William,Kevin, and Robbie out with us. We headed out and got set up for Flounder fishing. The tide and conditions where perfect but the bite was slow we bounced around and plucked away and caught a handful with 4 Keepers. Since the bite never really picked up we decided to go look for a Cobia. It wasnt long we saw our first fish. We broke the ice and landed a pair and released one and boxed the other. Cobia fishing was a success and everyone on the boat got to catch their first Cobia. We brought home two for dinner and the biggest was 35lbs thanks again guys see yall soon!

July 25 2014
Plenty of shots but many wouldn't eat. We had Dan and his crew out with us. It was a rough ride out but instantly started seeing Cobia. We saw alot of fish but many wouldn't cooperate especially the bigger fish. We did get plenty of Cobia action throughout the day. We caught and released alot of short fish and boxed 3 for dinner we also pulled and handful off. We made a quick stop on the way in a tried for Flounder. The conditions where terrible so didn't fish long we caught a handful with 1 keeper. It was a good day with a fun group thanks again guys.

July 23 2014 AWESOME day Cobia and Flounder!!!

July 23 2014
It was one of those days where it all came together and we had a absolute banner day! We had the crazy Eastern Shore crew back out with us for a full day trip. Last time they came out with us we did good on the Cobia so they wanted to put more time into Flounder fishing. We got set up and it wasnt long the current was perfect we all started catching fish.... excuse me but there was one particular person that was just feeding and wiffing them on the bow, but I'm not gonna mention any names. Eventually we all started catching Flounder and we caught around 35-40 Fish and had 20 keepers with two over 5lbs and one 6.5lbs! So the bite slowed down and the current made it tough to hold bottom. So with box full of Flounder and time left in our day we went looking for Cobia. It wasnt long we got we got some shots, caught some fish, and missed a couple. We topped our amazing day with catching 6 Cobia keeping 4, with the biggest around 40lbs! It was an awesome day. Thanks alot guys it is always a good time fishing with y'all.

July 22 2014 Flat out hot!

July 22 2014
Had the big Texas crew out with us today. We had Jeff and his son Taylor out with us for a half day trip. Our day started off great with a nice ride out and pretty much instant action. We picked away at a few fish at our first stop and made a move and the bite was hot! We caught around 35-40 Flounder kept our 16 Fish limit and had some very solid fish today with 4 over 5 lbs! We had our limit before 11:00 so decided to look for a Cobia on the way home. Saw a pod of Cobia, hooked two up and in the heat of the double header we quickly released Taylors fish about 32-35 inches and unfortunately the big one got us in the motor shortly after and broke us off but it was a really solid fish 60-70lbs. But fortunately we had a box full of meat and made it to Surf Rider for lunch time. Thanks again guys see yall whenever yall pass back through Virgina.

July 21 2014 Flat fish!

July 21 2014
Chumming didn't workout for us today. We had Don and his family and a friend out with us. They really wanted some Cobia action so again with the overcast skies we set up and chummed. We had no love from Cobia but plenty of sharks and also a big Southern Ray around a 100 lbs kept us busy. The big Ray did have about 35-40lb Cobia following it but wouldn't eat. So we waited it out and made a last minute decision to pull the plug and go Flounder fishing. The tide was perfect and it wasnt long we all started catching fish. Before the current shut our fishing down we caught around 20-25 Flounder and kept 14 biggest was 22.5" Thanks alot for coming out with us we will get the Cobia next time!

We caught around 40-45 Flounder total and kept our 16 fish limit biggest was 22.5" 4.5lbs. It was a great day with good people Congrats to all the winning teams.

July 18 2014 Great Cobia fishing and solid fish!

July 18 2014
We had John,Rhonda and some of there family back out with us today. The goal was to do some Flounder fishing but unfortunately with the rough seas and strong current at the time we decided to give Cobia fishing a try. It wasntlong we started seeing some fish but either they wouldn't eat or they would go down before we could get a cast. We finally connected the dots and put little man on his first nice Cobia! The action continued along with some fish not cooperating but we had awesome day. We kept two for dinner around 20-25lbs and released the rest. The group was all for releasing our biggest fish of the day, a solid 59.5 inches est 55-60lbs! Thanks again for coming out with us, congratulations on your trophy fish!

July 17 2014 Quick Cobia trip

July 17 2014
We had Mike from Texas out with us today for a morning half day trip. The goal today was to catch Mike his first Cobia. It was a little bumpy getting out but we were quickly rewarded with Mike catching his first Cobia, It was a little to small to keep so we released it. Fishing was pretty good we got plenty of shots and action was consistent. Unfortunately we had the rubber hook syndrome for a good portion of our morning but we made up for it with Mike landing a nice 35lber. Thanks again hopefully we top that fish next year.

July 16 2014 Flounder!

July 16 2014
A lot like yesterday the weather did not cooperate for us today. We had Mathew and Dutch out with us. They really wanted to Cobia fish but the weather wouldn't let that happen today . So plan "B " we got set up and Flounder fished. We managed to get a few bites and catch a few fish. The wind was going against the tide all morning so made it very difficult to fish where we wanted. But with the tough conditions we where able to catch around 20 Flounder and had 9 keepers biggest was 20 inches. With the miserable weather we decided to call it a early day and head in. Thanks again see yall soon!

July 15 2014 Cobia and Flounder!

J

uly 15 2014
The conditions where defiantly not in our favor for us today. Jason and his family where out with us today. The objective was mostly Cobia, but thankfully we brought the Flounder tackle along. We started Cobia fishing and theconditions where poor it was rough and overcast which made fishing difficult. We got a couple shots and made them count. Jake got to catch his first Cobia it was just shy of being a keeper. And Jason's father got to catch his biggest Cobia a nice 35-40lber. The conditions kept deteriorating so we decided to go set up and Flounder fish. We got setup and it was a good steady bite we caught around 10-15 Flounder and had 5 keepers biggest was 23 inches unfortunately we where forced to stop catching and run in early before the storm caught us. Thanks again guys see y'all soon.

July 13 2014 Cobia!

July 13 2014
Today we had Tim and his crew for a half day trip. Not even five seconds after we started looking we saw a moose. We made a great cast and it sucked the eel up, the line came tight then the hook pulled. Every one on the boat had an uneasy feeling in their stomach. Before we could stop thinking about how big that fish was we saw a triple. We hooked two, one nice keeper and one throw back. Not too long after the pair we saw another nice fish that we hooked up and also pulled the hook. Glad we were able to get a little meat for these guys.

July 12 2014
Brandon, Ken, Jonathan, Jon, and I met at the dock at five o'clock to fish the Gloucester boys and girls club flounder tournament. As soon as we got setup and the tide got right we started catching flounders. I lucked up and hung one of our first fish of the morning which was our largest flounder of the day a beautiful 8.5 pounder! also our second place calcutta fish. The action was steady all day with multiple hookups all around. At the end of the day we ended up with a nice 20 fish limit and had a combined weight of 19.5 pounds for our 3 fish stringer. We ended up in second place overall combined weight, and second place in big fish calcutta. Cant wait to do it again next year!

July 11 2014 Awesome catch Flounder and Cobia!

July 11 2014
Headed out with Emmauel and his buddies for a full day on the bay. They were dead set on Cobia fishing, so we gave it try in not so good conditions. After awhile, with no luck, we decided to go Flounder fishing. The tide wasn't perfect but, the fishing was good. Everyone was catching flounders! We caught a total of 15 and had 10 keepers with the biggest around 21 inches. The current got going too much so we decided to go back to Cobia fishing. Almost instantly we saw and caught our first Cobia. The ball kept rolling and we caught our second Cobia of the day another one for the box. With plenty of meat we called it a day and headed in. Thanks again guys for coming out with us see y'all again soon!

July 10 2014 Awesome Flounder fishing!

July 10 2014
It was defiantly all worth fishing today despite the miserable weather we had. We had Dennis and Chuck out with us to do some flounder fishing. It was rough and wet ride out to say the least, but the fish had no problem cooperating. It wasn't long before everyone began to get bites and hooked up. The bite stayed very consistent with the best class of flounder I've seen all year. Before the current and the big storm sent us home early we caught around 30 Flounders and had a solid 16 fish limit with our two biggest over 6 lbs! It's always a pleasure having Dennis and friends on board. Can't wait to have them back!

July 7 2014 Flounder and Black drum!

July 7 2014
We took advantage of the gorgeous day! Aside from the windy conditions you couldn't ask for a better day. Jonathan, Jon, and I initially headed out and Katie joined a couple hours later after getting off work. The windy conditions made it challenging to hold the boat. But it panned out for us and we had a very successful trip. We caught a total of 35-40 Flounder keeping our 16 fish limit. Jon was the $1 big fish winner on the boat today with his 23.5 incher Katie wasnt far behind with her 22 incher. We also caught a 10-12 lb Black drum that also made its way to our dinner table.Good day with great friends.

July 6 2014 Cobia x 10

July 6 2014
We had Jon and his crew out with us today in high hopes for all of them to catch there first Cobia. It didn't take long to get into the action we saw and hooked our first fish after about 15 minutes of looking. The pace stayed pretty consistent the whole trip. We got  a lot of shots saw around 20-25 fish. Majority where on the smaller side but, we defiantly saw our share of nice fish as well. Despite  pulling the hook on a couple really nice fish we still landed 10 total and kept two; biggest 46 inches. It was great to see these guys catch their first cobias!

July 1 2014 Solid day with a 72lb Cobia!

July 1 2014
Well the big one didn't get away from us today like it did yesterday! Tuan came out with us for a half day trip in high hopes to catch a big Cobia. We picked him up at White House Cove around 10:00 and headed out. While running out we spotted our fish, got right on it and pulled it off. It was small fish but the day started with action. We redeemed our-self on the next few fish, boxed two keepers 20-25 lbers, and released a couple. So with meat in the box it was time to focus on the big girl! We got our shot and it came together with a little scramble. Tuan blew his previous personal Cobia record 40 lbs. out the water and landed a slob. The fish was super fat 59.5" with a 29.5" girth weighing 72 lbs.! Thanks again Tuan, See you soon.
